We also took a day to explore the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The view from the rooftop garden was absolutely stunning.

Afterwards, we checked out the NYU Bookstore where I picked up the first of my textbooks. I'm not sure if I should be unnerved or exhilarated after receiving my large stack of philosophy, religion and anthropology books. We finished off the night with hot, spicy ramen at Sapporo Ramen in Times Square. NYC is filled with the most authentic, delicious restaurants. If you're ever in the area and craving a bowl of ramen, be sure to check this place out!

Over the next few days, we did a number of things including shopping in Soho, walking The Highline in Chelsea and meeting my roommate for pizza, pasta and bruschetta. Having the chance to settle in before school has made the 2,000 mile change much, much easier. Keep reading for a post on NYU nightlife, welcome week and student activities.
