Broke in Brooklyn

I apologize for the lack of posts recently, but I am absolutely exhausted from the weekend.
Throughout the past few days, I attended a dangerously large number of social events and get-togethers. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with my Kappa girls, but one can get a bit overwhelmed from constantly socializing.

Saturday afternoon, my friend and went around Soho looking for cheap sunglasses. First, we checked out Topshop. They had decent sunglasses, but all were $30 and above. I was this close to getting a pair, but decided to wait. Lucky for me, we walked past a street vendor selling unique and trendy sunglasses for $3 or $5. It was quite a steal.. and I ended up purchasing more than one pair. Afterwards, we made a stop at the Alex and Ani store, which my friend is absolutely obsessed with. She convinced me to finally buy the Alex and Ani bangle I had been eyeing for a quite a while. (I'm officially repping NYU!)

That night, we went into Chelsea for a pizza party where we played Cards Against Humanity, watched Gilmore Girls and took pictures. (Sounds like the perfect combo, right?) After pizza, I went to another friend's apartment and arrived home around 12:30am. All in all, I was tired, but it was a pretty great night.

On Sunday morning, a few of us got together and took the subway to Brooklyn, where we munched and foodgasmed on donuts, ramen burgers and ginger lemonade. By the time we were done, I had $0.75 left in my wallet and a full, satisfied stomach. As we were waiting for our food to digest, we spread out on the lawn and relaxed until we needed to be back for chapter photos at 3:30pm. Around 2:30pm, we decided to Uber our way back into Manhattan. For some otherworldly reason, our Uber driver could not find our location. This was my first time using Uber, so I was a bit skeptical about the whole process. We ran around the pier trying to find his car and after 20 minutes and finally, when we were out of breath, gave up and decided to call another driver. This driver however, found us within the next 5 minutes and we made it back just in time for chapter photos in Washington Square Park. It was quite the adventure we had in Brooklyn, but I guess every visit to Brooklyn ends up being an adventure.
